This insider has just revealed who he believes the Toronto Maple Leafs should be going after, and it isn't a defenseman like most insiders are predicting.

Nick Kypreos Believes Leafs Should Go After Lawson Crouse from the Coyotes

The Toronto Maple Leafs are definitely going to be looking to buy at the deadline, with their roster needing some shaping up if they want to make a serious push this post-season. Most of the speculation on where the Leafs will add has been focussed on the blueline, however, Nick Kypreos has a different take.

Kypreos shared his thoughts recently that the Leafs should go after Arizona forward Lawson Crouse. Here is what he had to say.

Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos believes Coyotes forward Lawson Crouse is the perfect fit' for the Leafs, noting his toughness and grit. He says the Leafs lack that and will need it come playoff time, especially against teams like Florida.

Do the Leafs Need More Grit This Season? Or is Defense a Better Priority?

In years past, the Leafs have been noted as a softer team and that has hurt them come playoff time. However, this season seems to be going a bit differently. Of course, you have Ryan Reaves as your tough guy should you need to dress him for a game. However, you also have guys this season up and down the lineup who are willing to get their hands dirty.

Max Domi, Tyler Bertuzzi, Jake McCabe and Simon Benoit are all players who have a bit of a grittier side to their game, and players who get enough ice time to be on when the game is getting chippy. The Leafs are better off adding depth down the middle of the ice in terms of another centerman if they aren't prioritizing adding a defenseman.

Do you think the Leafs should add a gritty player?
