Joe Bowen has been the voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs for decades, through all of the ups and downs. With the team on the brink of elimination to the Boston Bruins, he has sent a message to fans.

Joe Bowen made headlines last week by calling out Toronto Maple Leafs fans for their lack of enthusiasm:

The idea of going
To any sporting event
To support the home team is to
Be PRO ACTIVE!!!
Give the team energy when they need it Not sitting down waiting
To be REACTIVE. The players can't say it but I will tonight's crowd was VERY DISAPPOINTING

Now, with a crucial game six just hours away, he has sent a new message, encouraging Maple Leafs fans to be the team's seventh player, and to cheer them on with everything they have:

Be the 7th man for the @MapleLeafs tonight @ScotiabankArena if you are fortunate to have a ticket!! Let's send this back to Boston!! Join @Jim_Ralph and yours truly tonight at 8pm on @FAN590

After Matthew Knies brought new life to the Maple Leafs' series against the red hot Boston Bruins, who have been carried by elite goaltending from Jeremy Swayman, and the pesty antics of captain Brad Marchand, we all hope that Scotiabank Arena will be more fired up than ever. The Toronto Maple Leafs are very familiar with 3-1 series leads and deficits; hopefully, for once, they will be able to bring the series back to Boston, and have a series go in their favour.

If they pull it off, they'll have another tough competitor in the Florida Panthers, who haunted them in the second round last year. With jobs on the line, can the Maple Leafs pull it off?
