Justin Holl Takes a Shot at Maple Leafs Fans
Justin Holl just revealed in an interview how he felt leaving Toronto, and whether or not he felt valued in the City.
Holl Says He is Happy to be Somewhere He Is Valued
Justin Holl has started his new era with the Detroit Red Wings off strong, coming out to an incredible plus 7 through his first 8 games.
The defenseman recently opened up about his time in Toronto, saying how he loved playing with Leaf teammates and was grateful for his time there.
"I loved my time in Toronto. I really have nothing but great memories and I'm grateful for the relationships that I was able to forge and the team success that we had," said the 31-year-old blueliner.
The former Leaf d-man also had an interesting quote on how he feels with his new team, and why he is excited to be in Detroit.
"I have no qualms about moving on, but I was really grateful for my time in Toronto. That being said, this is just what was next in my path to development I think and how the contract situation works out and everything like that, I'm grateful to be in a place that I'm valued and I'm just ready to keep moving."
Holl Takes Subtle Shot at Leaf Fans in Quote
While the quote isn't much, it is no surprise that Holl is happy to be somewhere that he is valued, as many Leaf fans were quick to hurry him out after last year's playoffs. Despite his plus-15 record in the regular season, Holl had some shaky moments in the playoffs, to which fans were quick to turn on him.
Justin Holl has been on the ice for 14 goals against.
That's the most by any Maple Leafs player in a single playoff series over the past decade.
Holl has clearly moved on from the Leafs, and he and his new team are off to a decent start to the year, sitting at 5-3-1. We will see if both Holl and the Red Wings can sustain this success for the rest of the year.
