Sidney Crosby and Claude Giroux have been rivals for fifteen years. They've played against each other frequently in the Battle of Pennsylvania, between the Flyers and the Penguins.
Crosby, 36, and Giroux, 35, are two of the most respected veterans in the NHL. They are both future members of the Hockey Hall of Fame, and every time they face off, it's a privilege to watch.
Even though Giroux is now with the Senators, the competition between the old rivals remains intense.
In Saturday night's game between the Senators and the Penguins, Crosby lost his temper after losing a faceoff to Claude Giroux.
He delivered two cross-checks to Giroux's back, and the latter one seemed especially forceful.
It's unexpected behavior from a leader and a respected veteran in the NHL, but Crosby's reputation is well-known.
