The Toronto Maple Leafs will be facing the brink of elimination on Tuesday night as they face the Boston Bruins in game five at TD garden trailing 3-1 in the series, and they may be without star player Auston Matthews as he left the game in the third period due to a mysterious illness.

Sheldon Keefe has spoken to the media about it and it is safe to say the health of Matthews seems to be concerning going into game five.

Many will say the Leafs have been a no show in the playoffs, and they are right, but some may argue that they have been quite unlucky as it seems their two star players William Nylander and Auston Matthews don't seem to be 100%. With one goal in the series Matthews has yet to leave fans starstruck with performances after his impressive 69 goal season. Keefe provided an update on his mysterious health issue after not returning to the game on Saturday night.

Sheldon Keefe on Auston Matthews: "For whatever reason, it's not one of those run-of-the-mill everyday type of illnesses that sort of come and go. This one has lingered. The effects have lingered and gotten worse when he gets on the ice and is asserting himself."

It is yet to be determined if number 34 will miss a crucial game five versus the Boston Bruins as the Leafs are on the brink of elimination.
