After game four, it was the Leafs that many thought might have been nervous. They had just gone down three games to one against the Bruins, a team that tormented them in the regular season. However, the team responded with two season-saving wins in a row, flipping the table on its head. How it is Bertuzzi who thinks the Bruins are the nervous ones going into game seven.
Bertuzzi has been particularly notable in the series in a big way for Toronto. With the absences of William Nylander and Auston Matthews, the Leafs have been scoring by committee, with Bertuzzi helping lead the way. Max Domi leads the team with four points while Bertuzzi is tied with five other skaters for three points. That being said, he's had many other chances to score, consistently creating offense.
Bertuzzi has also been engaged physically, repeatedly getting involved with Brad Marchand. While the Bruins captain has had some good moments of his own, Bertuzzi and the Leafs have seemingly gotten into his head in the later half of the series. The team has specifically been targeting Marchand, trying to get under his skin, and it appears to be working.
The Leafs and Bruins will face off for 2024's first game seven tomorrow night at 8PM EST. Be sure to tune in to find out the fate of both clubs.
