In breaking news today, the Toronto Maple Leafs have just recalled goaltender Matt Murray from the Toronto Marlies after a conditioning stint from the long term injured reserve list.

The Toronto Maple Leafs dropped the first game to the Boston Bruins in an unfortunate fashion, and the goaltending wasn't where it needed to be to beat a team like the Bruins in the playoffs. While Ilya Samsonov had moments of shine, he let in the first shot he faced in both the first and second periods.

The Leafs do have a number of goaltenders at their disposal, though, and it looks like they have officially added another. They have recalled goaltedner Matt Murray from his conditioning stint with the Marlies today after spending the entire year on LTIR.

Murray, 29, went 1-2-0 with an .846 SV% with the Marlies, with his one win helping them clinch the AHL postseason.

This is the first step in officially recalling him to the team, however, it remains to be seen if the Leafs will need to pull him up to the big club. We will see how the goaltending goes tonight for the Buds.
