Leafs will have to bid for Max Domi as others showing interest
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a bad spot entering free agency as a Western Conference team, the Seattle Kraken, is looking to steal Max Domi from them.
Last year was a fairly rough one for the Seattle Kraken as after making the playoffs in 2023, they finished in the bottom ten in 2024. Now holding the 8th overall pick in the 2024 draft, they will look to make moves this offseason to bolster their roster for the 2024-25 campaign and beyond.
They are apparently targeting two forwards in free agency including Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi per NHL insider David Pagnotta.
"A couple of players on Seattle's radar if they hit free agency in July are Max Domi and Anthony Duclair." - David Pagnotta Domi was one of the better players for the Maple Leafs being a Swiss army knife in their top nine being able to play on the first line with Auston Matthews or on the third line. He also nearly hit the 50-point mark again scoring 47 points for the Leafs.
In addition to Domi from the Leafs, the Kraken are also targeting Anthony Duclair from the Tampa Bay Lightning who was quite productive after getting traded away from the San Jose Sharks scoring 15 points in 17 games for the Bolts.
