Maple Leaf Stars Boycott Practice After Brutal Loss to Blackhawks
It was a genuinely brutal loss for the Maple Leafs against the Chicago Blackhawks.
A team that just acquired two new players in Ryan O'Reilly and Noel Acciari has no excuse to drop a game to one of the order teams in the league.
Clearly this got into Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner's heads, as they skipped a practice that every other Maple Leaf attended.
Matthews is just getting over an injury, and Mitch Marner was at the All-Star game, so they have valid reasons to need rest, but this clearly wasn't the practice to skip on.
Hopefully this loss fuels the team to get better, as these losses are detrimental to their home advantage against Tampa Bay.
