Maple Leafs Reject One-for-One Trade Offer from the Flyers, per Frank Seravalli
The Trade Deadline is approaching, and the Toronto Maple Leafs have been said to have rejected a 1-for-1 trade involving Scott Laughton and Fraser Minten.
The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to be one of many teams who are active at the upcoming Trade Deadline, and one player that they've been linked to is Philadelphia Flyers forward Scott Laughton.
Flyers general manager Daniel Briere has been alleged to have offered Laughton to the Toronto Maple Leafs in return for Fraser Minten, but was rebuffed by general manager Brad Treliving.
NHL insider Frank Seravalli of The Daily Faceoff had the latest on the alleged rebuffed offer.
I was told that the Flyers would be interested and willing to do Fraser Minten straight up for Scott Laughton. I was told that was also a 'no' for the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Flyers like Minten.
Additionally, NHL analyst Elliotte Friedman made an appearance on Tuesday's edition of "Leafs Morning Take", and had the latest on what could potentially be brewing with Toronto.
I think [the Leafs] would love to do something that moves the needle. I think they have accepted the fact that if they're going to get something that moves the needle, it's going to cost them some combination of their No. 1 pick in 2026, Easton Cowan, Fraser Minten, or Ben Danford.
I think also they've wondered if they're going to have to move salaries, too. Does someone have to come off the roster to make stuff work? Toronto Can't Afford To Sit On Their Hands Come Friday

The Leafs are facing a critical year as they enter the postseason. They haven't won anything past a first round, and it's been over 20 years since the team has been in any meaningful playoff games.
The unwillingness to break the bank leaves the Maple Leafs in a tough situation as they navigate an ever-shrinking trade market with minimal assets.
But they can't do nothing, and simply can't rely on a now-healthy Calle Jarnkrok and Max Domi as their 3C's, especially come playoff time, and there's not many other internal options left.
Treliving will be looking to do anything possible in order to ensure that his team can make an extended postseason run for the first time in decades, because major changes could be on the horizon if they bow out early yet again.
