A new report states the timeline for Matthew Knies's injury and how long the Leafs forward will be out for.

Matthew Knies was injured in the second period of Toronto's game yesterday against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Knies struggled to get up from the ice after colliding with Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko and did not return to the game.

Knies was ruled out with what the Toronto Maple Leafs called an "upper-body injury".

Leafs head coach Craig Berube said he had "no immediate update" on the status of Knies last night.

It's now known how long Matthew Knies will be out for, and when he may be back for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Matthew Knies Injury Timeline Revealed by Toronto Maple Leafs Insider

Leafs reporter Nick Alberga has reported that Matthew Knies is out day-to-day with what Alberga reports is a knee injury.

To what is a positive for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Knies injury is not considered to be serious.

The Toronto Maple Leafs have not at this time commented on the injury status of Matthew Knies.

It's a positive for the Leafs who appear to not be losing Knies long-term, already having recently lost John Tavares in the top-six.

The Leafs have struggled with injury concerns all season, especially at forward, where, along with Tavares and now Knies, also having been injured, include captain Auston Matthews twice.

Currently injured forwards for the Leafs include Max Pacioretty, Calle Jarnkrok, & Connor Dewar.

Luckily for Toronto, the injury to Knies appears to be just a minor bump in the road, with no serious concern over Knies who looks to be back soon for the Leafs.

Knies, 22, has 18 goals and 31 points in 47 games this season for the Toronto Maple Leafs

This is a developing story, more details to follow.
