The Toronto Maple Leafs and their fans have a complicated relationship with Mike Babcock. His tenure ended on bad terms and he is now somewhat of a villain in Toronto. Ahead of Game 7 Mike Babcock leaned into that villain arc and helped the Boston Bruins take down the Toronto Maple Leafs.

After their Game 7 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery was asked what he did to prepare for the game. As part of his answer, Jim Montgomery said he received advice and encouragement from former Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock ahed of the game.

Jim Montgomery got encouragement from Jon Cooper and advice from Mike Babcock before Game 7.

Since his firing and reported mistreatment of players in Toronto Mike Babcock has not found success coaching in the NHL. He was fired before even coaching a game for the Columbus Blue Jackets for similar allegations. Now fans are convinced Mike Babcock helped the Boston Bruins in a revenge plot against the Maple Leafs.

Oh I'm sure Babs loved watching Keefe get dunked on all series again

Wow we've made enemies

Babcock knows Rielly's a pylon!.

Whatever the advice was from the former Maple Leafs bench boss it seems to have worked. The Boston Bruins pulled out the win against the Toronto Maple Leafs in overtime on a defensive blunder by the Maple Leafs.

Now with the speculation surrounding the future of Sheldon Keefe in Toronto one has to wonder if Mike Babcock would be proud of the fallout he has created for his former squad.
