Toronto, who got eliminated from the playoffs by the Boston Bruins in seven games over the weekend, are now preparing to hold their end-of-the-season media availability later today.
Many things are expected to change in Toronto over the summer, and one of the hottest topic will be the head coach position.
Everything points to the fact that Sheldon Keefe could lose his job in the coming days. In the playoffs, he failed to motivate his troops and push them enough to reach the next level.
One of the lowest point of the series was Keefe's speech in the locker room just before the start of game seven.
Before he most important game of the season, he told his players to "relax, breathe, and have fun with this thing," which is quite underwhelming for a game 7, in our opinion.
A fan released a video in which we see Keefe's speech, as well as the former St. Louis Blues head coach Craig Berube's speech. There's a major difference between both speeches, and the Blues won, whereas the Leafs lost.
Check it out here:
In an intermission report, Paul Bissonnette revealed that Berube, who was fired by the Blues earlier this season,
could be an interesting option for the Leafs' next coach, if they decide to fire Keefe.
Biznasty was probably joking, but there's no doubt that Berube would be an interesting candidate to replace Keefe.
Do you think Sheldon Keefe will be replaced as the Toronto Maple Leafs head coach by Craig Berube?
More to come.
