With so many phases that go into making an NHL superstar: physicality, shooting, IQ, passing, defence and so many others, there's bound to be a best at every one, and now, Twitter's J-Fresh has revealed the leagues top playmaker.
Using statistics such as league average shooting %, cross slot passes, behind-the-net passes, low-high passes, one-timers, deflections and more, the numbers show that forward Mitch Marner comes out as the league's best.
Tough competition
In seven years at the NHL level, Marner has put together an impressive 554 points in just 507 games played, and while playing alongside stars like Auston Matthews doesn't hurt, these numbers don't lie.
As you can see, Marner beat out some incredible names like Connor McDavid, Kevin Fiala, Nathan MacKinnon and Artemi Panarin for that spot, and while it's all subjective, these numbers show that the Leafs forward is one of the league's most important players.
