Toronto Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving has a lot of contracts he needs to sign this offseason and Nick Robertson's could be on the cheaper side for the Leafs.

Since being drafted in the second round of the 2019 NHL draft, Nick Robertson has had a roller-coaster career where he once looked like one of the best prospects in hockey and has struggled to fill out to his potential due to injury struggles.

From 2021-22 to 2022-2023, Robertson got into only 55 games which is brutal. This past year was one of his healthiest in years and he was able to get into 56 NHL games and an additional 9 AHL games where he looked quite impressive.

A pending restricted free agent, Robertson is due for a new contract and it looks as if the Leafs will be able to retain him for a relatively cheap price. A contract projection has emerged that looks quite favorable for the Maple Leafs.

Standing at 5-foot-9 and 178 pounds, his size belies his impact on the ice. As he heads into contract negotiations, a bridge deal around $1.5 million per season seems likely, reflecting his growing importance to the team's future plans.

A cheap deal could be beneficial to both parties as it allows Robertson to get a shot for a bit more and if he does blossom into the star many thought he could be, then he could be one of the most underpaid pieces for the Toronto Maple Leafs
