Coming off a very solid 3-1 win over the Seattle Kraken, which saw the return of goaltender Anthony Stolarz after a 24-game absence, the Maple Leafs head into their final game before the 4 Nations Face-Off against the Canucks.
With this being the last game before a two-week break, one question remains:
Did Craig Berube make any lineup changes for the Maple Leafs?
Why fix what's not broken? That's the mindset for Craig Berube as the head coach is going with the same lineup that brought him success in Seattle.
Knies - Matthews - Domi
Nylander - Tavares - Marner
McMann - Holmberg - Robertson
Pacioretty - Kampf - Lorentz
McCabe - Tanev
Rielly - OEL
Benoit - Myers
Woll
Stolarz
We see the return of Max Domi to the top pairing as well as Mitch Marner sliding down to the second. The first two lines were responsible for a lot of offense on Thursday, and splitting up Marner and Matthews has always been fairly successful.
Toronto (33-19-2) is riding a three-game win streak and needs as much momentum as they can heading into the 4 Nations break. The team currently sits one point off first place Florida in the Atlantic Division.
Joseph Woll gets the start for the Leafs tonight, and the young goalie has been fantastic this season even amidst some injuries and struggles.
He has a 19-10-0 record with a 2.67 GAA and .909 SV% in 29 games (28 starts) for the Maple Leafs.
The Maple Leafs will look to keep the Canucks (25-18-11) at bay. Vancouver is also riding a two game winning streak, and things have finally settled down from the J.T. Miller trade drama.
Rick Tocchet's team is looking to extend their wild card lead as they hold only a two point lead over Calgary for the second spot.
The Maple Leafs vs. Canucks takes place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia with the puck drop scheduled for 7pm ET.
