Despite their regular season success, this is a Maple Leafs team with plenty of holes to fill in the coming months, and with a potential Mitch Marner trade coming at some point, there'll be plenty of opportunity for change in Toronto. Now, The Fourth Period's David Pagnotta has connected the Leafs to three intriguing free agents in his latest piece.
Those players are Nikita Zadorov, Dakota Joshua and Viktor Arvidsson, all of whom would bring fantastic experience and production to this Maple Leafs team. Zadorov is the player most likely to land in Toronto, as he played under current GM Brad Treliving in Calgary, and given his size, explosiveness and his position being a major one of need for the Maple Leafs, it's a move that's been coming for quite some time.
While Joshua and Arvidsson would be less exciting additions, they've both been productive when on the ice, with Joshua tallying 18 goals and 32 points this past year while Arvidsson struggled with injury, picking up 15 points in just 18 games played in 2023-24. The Maple Leafs also have pending free agents of their own in Tyler Bertuzzi, Max Domi and others to take a look at, so they've got some big decisions to make, but if any of these three are available, Toronto must take a look at them.
