Rising KHL star Maxim Tsyplakov linked to the Maple Leafs

Russia is one of the best importers of NHL talent and the Toronto Maple Leafs could land the next hidden gem out of Russia in forward Maxim Tsyplakov.

Today on the 32 Thoughts podcasted hosted by insiders Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek, Friedman shared that the Toronto Maple Leafs are in on Russian forward Maxim Tsyplakov.

The 25-year-old forward was undrafted in all of his years of draft eligibility but has progressed year after year and now looks primed to make the jump to the NHL.

This past season the 6'3" winger had a career-high 31 KHL goals and an additional 16 assists for 47 points through 65 games for Spartak Moskova.
