In last night's game between the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers, fans witnessed an amazing effort from both teams. McDavid and Draisaitl offered a great show, scoring a controversial game-tying goal with less than two minutes in the third period to force overtime.
Mitch Marner gave his team the win in great fashion. He scored his 200th career goal on a turnover in his zone, in a two-on-one against Evan Bouchard and Stuart Skinner.

Unfortunately, an incident occurred during the game, making the loss even harder for Oilers fans.
Indeed, Darnell Nurse had to be helped off the ice by his teammates and members of the medical unit after receiving a dangerous hit from the Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves.
In an attempt to exit the Oilers zone, Nurse was controlling the puck near his net, skating in a vulnerable position, and was hit to the head by Reaves.
Reaves was ejected from the game, and Nurse retreated to the locker room, done for the night.
Watch how it went down in the video below:
After the game, the renowned insider Elliotte Friedman shared that Reaves made a great gesture towards Nurse after the hit.
According to Friedman, Reaves went near Edmonton's locker room to apologize to Nurse face-to-face during the third period.
The insider added that the Oilers will wait to see how Nurse's condition evolves in the next few days before sharing an update, but was seen walking and joking around with his trainers, a good sight for worried Oilers fans.

While Reaves' gesture shows that he didn't want to injure Nurse, it won't help his case with the DoPS. His hit was dirty, he was ejected, and will likely face consequences, whether he apologized or not.
Updates on Nurse's health and Reaves' suspension fate are expected to be released soon. Stay tuned as we bring the latest developments to you!
