Sheldon Keefe Explains the Latest Lineup Changes and His Strategic Reasoning
Sheldon Keefe makes some confusing decisions sometimes.
They're rightfully put under scrutiny, especially as the playoffs loom. He explained himself today:
Sheldon Keefe's Latest Moves
After a dominant performance with Ryan O'Reilly centering John Tavares and Mitch Marner, it looked like the lines were set long-term.

This is why it was so surprising when they slid the unstoppable force of Nylander down to the second line with O'Reilly and Tavares.
Sheldon Keefe Explains Himself
Sheldon Keefe revealed that he's wanted to try Nylander with O'Reilly since the acquisition happened. This is why he made this move, despite the timing being weird.
We'll have to wait and see if it works!
