Three potential trade targets of the St. Louis Blues could end up being potential options for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With the St. Louis Blues just out of the NHL's playoff picture, the Toronto Maple Leafs could be a team to swoop into some key trade options.

According to a report from David Pagnotta of 'The Fourth Period', the St. Louis Blues are being linked to potential trades involving forwards Pavel Buchnevich, Jordan Kyrou, and a player commonly linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs, Brayden Schenn.

Reportedly, the Vegas Golden Knights are one team linked to Schenn in trade discussions.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are linked heavily to a forward add, and will likely be adding a player during the trade deadline, with Schenn one of the many players discussed as names to watch.

With Schenn linked to the Toronto Maple Leafs as a trade target, could Buchnevich and Kyrou be as well?

Could The Leafs Make A Shocking Ploy For Top Stars From St. Louis?

The Toronto Maple Leafs will almost surely continue discussing forward options up until the NHL's trade deadline on March 7th.

One benefit to Toronto's hunt is each of the three players having experienced being coached by current Leafs head coach Craig Berube, who understands each of the three's play style.

Schenn, 33, has 11 goals and 32 points in 56 games this season for the Blues.

Schenn is in his eighth season with the Blues, an All-Star in 2018 and Stanley Cup champion a year later in 2019.

Schenn is the younger brother of former Toronto Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn.

Kyrou, 26, has 23 goals and 44 points in 56 games this season with St. Louis.

Kyrou is in the second year of an-eight year contract that combined with his age and pedigree would cost a monumental return for any team looking to have Kyrou in the lineup.

Buchnevich, 29, has 11 goals and 34 points in 54 games for the Blues in 2024-25.

Unlike Schenn & Kyrou, Buchnevich was not a member of the Blues 2019 championship team but has been with St. Louis for the past four seasons.

Buchnevich is in the final year of a four-year contract, making $5.8M annually.

All three players are potential top-six forwards, although a player like Kyrou may be out of Toronto's reach financially without a deep amount of futures.

Schenn is already a popular option for the Leafs looking for a top Center alongside Auston Matthews & John Tavares, although Buchnevich is an offensively skilled winger who could catch the Leafs eye.

If the Toronto Maple Leafs are to go with any of these three options, it may be the trust of Craig Berube ultimately over the type of player that will fit the roster the team is trying to build for the playoffs this year.
