The Toronto Maple Leafs finally explained why they mysteriously removed all the O's from their social media.

A few days ago, fans noticed that the Toronto Maple Leafs had removed all the O's from their pictures on social media.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Leafs finally announced why they did it.

A video was released, in which we learn that the Toronto Maple Leafs' new helmet sponsor is Oreo.

Check it out:

Leafs fans will see the new logo on the players' helmets as soon as next Sunday. On the 22nd, the Ottawa Senators will be in town to face the Maple Leafs at Scotiabank Arena for the first pre-season game of the year.

It'll be a night of firsts in Toronto, as new head coach Craig Berube should also make his first appearance behind the Leafs' bench for a game. Even if it's just a pre-season clash, we are eager to see Berube in action. It'll also be interesting to see who'll make the lineup for the first game.

The status of Fraser Minten is still unknown after he left the rookie game against the Montreal Canadiens on Sunday afternoon, but we should get to see young guns Easton Cowan, Nikita Grebenkin, and Cade Webber alongside a few veterans, and possibly some of the Maple Leafs' summer acquisitions like Max Pacioretty, Chris Tanev, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, or Anthony Stolarz.
