Mats Sundin, the Maple Leafs icon who holds the franchise record in goals and points, has found himself embarking on a new chapter in his life as an author, as he is set to release his memoir in October.

The franchise record holder in goals (420) and points (987) is often regarded as one of, if not the greatest player to ever don the blue and white. His iconic backhand shot coupled with an infectious smile, humble personality and passion for the team and city endeared him to an entire country; and it's hard to find anyone with a bad word to say about Sundin.

Over his 18 year career, he amassed 564 goals and 785 assists for an incredible 1,349 points; good for 30th all-time ahead of names such as Jean Beliveau, Jarome Iginla and Larry Murphy. But now the Swede is taking his career down a different path.

Sundin announced that starting on October 21st, the release of his memoir 'Home and Away' will coincide with a book tour around Ontario. Starting at the Hockey Hall of Fame; where he was inducted in 2012, he will venture throughout Ontario with stops in Toronto/Orangeville, then head north to Barrie, Oshawa, Peterborough, North Bay, and ending in the chilly confines of Sudbury.
