Toronto Maple Leafs Make Major Roster Move In Order To Call Up Robertson

Prior to the trade deadline, Brad Treliving reportedly talked with Nick Robertson about sending him down to the AHL temporarily for trade deadline reasons. He reassured the young forward that he would be quick to call him back up though and today he came through on that promise.

Toronto Maple Leafs Recall Robertson From AHL Marlies

The Maple Leafs officially recalled Robertson from the Marlies this morning.

The @MapleLeafs have recalled F Nicholas Robertson from the @TorontoMarlies.

The 22-year-old was seen practicing with the team this morning, indicating that he will likely be in the lineup soon. However, the team's next game is not until Thursday

Robertson has performed admirably for the Leafs this year, potting 8 goals and totally 19 points in 41 appearances with the team. However, he has still not managed to earn a proper full-time role with the club due to his poor defensive play and waivers-exempt status.

Leafs Put Giordano On LTIR To Make Room For Robertson

Prior to his callup through the team did not actually have enough cap room to make the move, as a result, another move had to be made.

As a result, the team placed veteran defenseman Mark Giordano on LTIR

Confirmed that the #Leafs have moved Giordano to LTIR, giving them space to recall Robertson.

Giordano has appeared in 38 games this season recording a single goal and 7 points with the team.
