Toronto Maple Leafs re-sign goaltender Matt Murray
Today reports are indicating that the Toronto Maple Leafs have re-signed veteran goaltender Matt Murray just minutes into free agency.
Heading into NHL Free Agency the Toronto Maple Leafs needed to address their goaltending situation.
Now the Toronto Maple Leafs have made their second major goaltending signing of the day by bringing back Matt Murray.
Hearing Matt Murray is re-signing with the Maple Leafs.
He will now join presumptive start Joseph Woll and newly signed Anthony Stolarz in the net for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
It remains to be seen who will end up being the backup but Matt Murray now has an opportunity to continue his career.
After dealing with injuries last season it will be interesting to see if the Maple Leafs start out Matt Murray in the AHL to get his confidence going on a rehab stint. Either way the Toronto Maple Leafs now have stability in goaltending that they so desperately needed.
