Toronto Maple Leafs set to sign Chris Tanev on opening day of Free Agency
The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to have a deal in place for defenseman Chris Tanev on July 1st.
The Toronto Maple Leafs will be big players on the free agent market on July 1st, as they continue to look to improve their blue line. Apparently, one problem has been solved, as former Calgary Flames defenseman Chris Tanev has already agreed to a deal with the Maple Leafs.
Tanev split his time last season with both the Flames and then eventually the Dallas Stars where he was dealt at the deadline.
Alain Quevillon of Toronto City News reported that the Leafs have a "deal in place" for defenseman Chris Tanev for July 1st.

This would be a reunion like no other, as GM Brad Treliving had the veteran defenseman on his roster back in his days with the Flames where he was the teams general manager for a long stinct.
