Toronto Maple Leafs make a trade with the Florida Panthers
Brad Treliving and the Toronto Maple Leafs have made a move with the Florida Panthers trading away pick number 58 for future picks.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have officially completed a trade with the Florida Panthers getting a second round pick next year and the final pick in today's 2024 NHL draft.
The #leafs trade pick No. 58 to #FlaPanthers for a 2025 second-round pick and No. 225 today.
TRADE
To Florida Panthers #TimeToHunt
2024 2nd round pick (BOS #58)
To Toronto Maple #LeafsForever
2025 2nd round pick (FLA)
2024 7th round pick (FLA #225)
The Panthers then used the pick to draft Linus Eriksson.
This is a great trade for the Leafs as they picked up an additional 7th-round pick and there is a solid chance that the Leafs wind up picking higher than 58th overall next year.
GM Brad Treliving could also use the pick next year in a trade which could bolster the Leafs' roster further next year. We will wait and see over the next year to see what comes of this pick.
