Trade proposal lands Alex Pietrangelo to the Toronto Maple Leafs
A trade pitch proposed online sees the Toronto Maple Leafs acquiring Alex Pietrangelo from the Vegas Golden Knights for Mitch Marner.
Rumors surrounding a Marner trade have been endless this summer, and the Golden Knights are one of the teams who are linked to him. Vegas lost Jonathan Marchessault and Chandler Stephenson in free agency, and are in desperate need to fill those two massive voids.
PuckPedia is a website where users can create trades and post it online on PuckGM for others to vote and discuss, and one major trade that garnered a lot of attention was Marner to Vegas for Pietrangelo.
Not sure Theodore would fit anymore after the OEL signing and Berube/Savard/van Ryn would all be extremely familiar with Pietrangelo
Just spitballing, I'd think VGK would have to add and maybe the Leafs want a C, but there's probably something there
The current trade proposal on PuckGM would see the Leafs also get William Karlsson in addition to Pietrangelo, and in return they would be sending Marner and Timothy Liljegren to Vegas.
Toronto Maple Leafs get:
Alex Pietrangelo
William Karlsson
Vegas Golden Knights get:
Mitch Marner
Timothy Liljegren
Pietrangelo would be a massive upgrade for the Leafs on defense, and Karlsson would also be able to fill in for some of the offense lost by letting Marner go. Karlsson had 60 points last year which is very solid, and he still has three years left on his deal with a cap-friendly salary of $5.9 million each year.
After an underwhelming start to free agency, this would be HUGE for Vegas 👀
Perhaps Brad Treliving is keeping an eye out on PuckGM to get some trade ideas. After all, more minds together is better than just one.
