Tyler Bertuzzi Reveals Why He Signed With The Toronto Maple Leafs
Tyler Bertuzzi shocked the hockey world when he decided to sign a short term deal with the Maple Leafs after originally asking for a 7-year deal.
Bertuzzi Reveals Why He Signed
Going into free agency, Tyler Bertuzzi was considered one of the top free agents on the market and almost the entire hockey community believed he would be getting a 7 year max term deal on the open market.
However, he surprised everybody by signing a 1 year $5.5 million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs just earlier this week.
He revealed why he signed a deal earlier today.
"I wanted to go to a team that I thought had a great chance to win, and Toronto is top of my list" - Tyler Bertuzzi
Bertuzzi's Fit In Toronto
Aside from simply having a good chance to win with the Maple Leafs, Bertuzzi has a good chance at producing at an elite level when playing with the top end talent on the Leafs.
Playing alongside the core four, we can expect Bertuzzi to surpass his career highs of 30 goals and 62 points.
If he does so, he will likely receive a massive contract offer on the free agent market next year and we could even see the Leafs break the bank to keep him.
