Today we finally were able to get a definitive answer about what Toronto Maple Leafs forward William Nylander said to Mitch Marner during the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs were an utter failure for the Toronto Maple Leafs. After a great regular season, the Maple Leafs were seen as contenders in the Eastern Conference. Despite being highly touted the Maple Leafs struggled which seemed to lead to infighting between star players Mitch Marner and William Nylander.

At the time it was unknown exactly what was said by William Nylander. It clearly upset Mitch Marner. At the time there was speculation that William Nylander told Mitch Marner to stop crying and that this isn't juniors anymore. At the time this was pure speculation of people trying to lip-read William Nylander. Now several months later a new behind-the-scenes clip has confirmed exactly what went down between the two players.

New clip from Amazon documentary confirms what Mitch Marner said to William Nylander

In a new promotional clip for a documentary series put on by Amazon, the clip of William Nylander and Mitch Marner arguing is shown. Beyond video being shown it has been revealed that there was a microphone that picked up exactly what William Nylander said during the Stanley Cup Playoff series against the Boston Bruins.

In the new clip spreading around the internet, William Nylander can be seen berating Mitch Marner. While talking with Mitch Marner, William Nylander says "shoot it stop crying bro" taking a major shot at his teammate during such a crucial moment.

The soundbites come after William Nylander volunteered to be a part of the Amazon series and was mic'd up for the game. Throughout the series fans and Amazon got a unique look at the star's struggles against the Boston Bruins.

I thought it was a lot of fun up until the last part, Nylander said.

Beyond the loss in the series William Nylander of course also struggled with migraines that limited him within the games. From the preview, it is unclear if we will get a look at that part of this series. Either way, Amazon confirmed that along with William Nylander other players like Connor McDavid, Jacob Trouba, Quinn Hughes, Gabriel Landeskog, Filip Forsberg, Jack Eichel, and Jeremy Swayman during the 2024-25 season.

With this news, we could see incredibly cool behind-the-scenes moments from Gabriel Landeskog's return from a major injury and Jeremy Swayman's potential holdout due to contract negotiations. It remains to be seen how much access Amazon will get to these players during the upcoming season.

For the Maple Leafs, this now will end the widespread speculation about what was said that night. However, it could lead to questions from the media directed at William Nylander and Mitch Marner regarding the situation. As the situation continues developing we will follow along with the aftermath of this clip officially being released.
