Insider reveals the trade the Hurricanes sent for Elias pettersson
We were this close to a potential blockbuster trade this weekend, according to insider Elliotte Friedman regarding Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson and a top contender in the NHL.
Friedman says Pettersson was almost a Hurricane
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Canucks and Hurricanes were discussing a deal involving pending RFA Elias Pettersson as contract talks went south. According to Dave Pagnotta, Necas and Kotkaniemi were among names going back to Vancouver.
I believe names like Martin Necas and Jesper Kotkaniemi were discussed from Carolina's end. This first occurred over week ago, prior to my initial contract offer report last week.
The #Canucks and #Canes had trade talks about Elias Pettersson that «advanced to a stage where both player and team needed to make serious decisions about where their relationship was headed,» per @FriedgeHNIC.
That all changed, as according to Frank Seravalli, the Canucks have suddenly resumed contract talks and have gained momentum on an extension for Elias Pettersson, after the trade talks occured.
Sources say #Canucks have made significant progress with superstar Elias Pettersson working on what is believed to be an 8-year contract extension.
