Alex Pietrangelo has been suspended by the NHL for one game following his slash on Edmonton superstar Leon Draisaitl in last night's game. The decision comes after Pietrangelo's hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety today.
You Can't Do That
During last night's semifinal match between the Vegas Golden Knights and Edmonton Oilers, Leon Draisaitl tried to put the game away via a missed empty net goal. Following the attempt, Vegas defenseman Alex Pietrangelo slashed Draisaitl on the hands, sparking a line brawl and furthering the hate these two teams currently have for one another.
It was announced earlier today that Pietrangelo would have a hearing for his actions during the incident with the Department of Player Safety.
It appears as though the DoPS has made their decision, and Pietrangelo will miss the next one game due to suspension.
