REPORT: Phil Kessel Closing In On His Next Team: Who It Is Will Shock You
Phil Kessel is closing in on signing a new contract and the chances that it is not in the NHL are getting increasingly higher.
Kessel Looking Into Signing In The Swiss NL
Insider Pierre LeBrun dropped some major news just now when he provided the latest update on Phil Kessel.
Free-agent Phil Kessel still awaiting an NHL opportunity and that door hasn't closed. But in the meantime, hearing that he's looking into maybe playing some games in Swiss League. Nothing decided yet.
The Swiss NL is a very solid league with many current NHL stars having played in it including Auston Matthews.
Roughly a third into the season, Kessel has yet to get an offer to play with somebody he wants to play with and he remains unsigned.
We will be following this situation closely and hope to see him stay in the NHL but if he needs to sign in the Swiss NL, we will be sad to see him go.
More details to come.
