Radko Gudas was on the receiving end of a monstrous hit in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final that forced him to leave early, and we now know more about his status. With Florida already down 2-0 against Vegas, could this be the final nail?
Maurice Witholds From Commenting
When questioned about Gudas' status following Game Two, Florida Panthers Head Coach Paul Maurice refused to comment directly on the situation, or Gudas' status. His lack of comments seems to indicate that Gudas isn't doing too great, especially after his head hit the ice as it did.
Check out the hit here:
Yikes! That doesn't look too good.
What Does This Mean For Florida
With Gudas likely done for the next few days at minimum, Florida will be seriously handicapped on defense. He has been one of if not their biggest physical presence throughout the playoffs, and his absence is a huge loss.
Paul Maurice is a seasoned coach who knows how to shuffle and manage a lineup in a pinch. He'll surely re-arrange his defensive pairs in a way he sees fit, but there's truly no replacing Gudas.
Does Florida still stand a chance against Vegas?
