As the team is likely heading toward a rebuild following another disappointing season in Winnipeg, several of the team's marquee players could be on the move in exchange for future assets.
One such name is Connor Hellebuyck, whose finesse between the pipes could entice a number of clubs in need of a #1 goalie.
Since Hellebuyck has reportedly already informed the Jets he won't be signing an extension there, the rumour mill is already in full swing over which team will acquire him. One such club just so happens to be the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Though we don't know for sure if the Leafs are targeting Hellebuyck, Marty Zylstra, the host of the Sports! is fun podcast, proposed this idea for a possible trade.
Based on the responses in the poll, the Jets will definitely need to add in order to justify the price of packaging William Nylander with a conditional first. It's also hard to say exactly how much of a return Hellebuyck will fetch, since goalies don't traditionally command exorbitant prices on the trade market.
Regardless, Leafs fans should definitely keep an eye on Hellebuyck if rumours linking him to the Buds soon take flight (no pun intended).
