Maple Leafs Prospect Is Lighting It Up After Being Cut From Training Camp
The NHL Draft and the development of the prospects selected can often make or break a team being able to compete. One Maple Leafs prospect looks to be an absolute steal if he continues his current production.
Maple Leafs Take A Chance On Undersized Forward
Brandon Lisowsky was not valued all that much as a prospect going into the 2022 NHL Draft. He was undersized and scored at an okay but not great rate. He was projected to be drafted in the later rounds of the NHL Draft.
When day 2 of the NHL Draft came the picks came and went until finally Lisowsky heard his name called. He was selected with the 218th pick of the draft in the 7th round. Since being selected he has proven that he was drafted far too low and deserves more respect. Last season he played 65 games and had 71 points. Now he's looking to improve upon that.
Maple Leafs Prospect On Fire
After attending the Maple Leafs training camp Brandon Lisowsky was sent back to the WHL. He is expected to be one of the best players in the WHL this upcoming season. Through 4 games with the Saskatoon Blades Lisowsky has 4 points.
#LeafsForever prospect Brandon Lisowsky scores his first goal of the season, backhanding a loose puck home on an odd man rush. He has 3 points in the first 3 games of his season.
Lisowsky will look to continue his hot start in Saskatoon and improve on his point total and all-around game from last season. If he has another good season he could give himself a good shot to fly up the Maple Leafs prospect pool rankings.
The Maple Leafs have a strong prospect pool especially considering how good they have been and the lack of total draft picks they have had. Lisowsky will look to continue elevating the system and make a name for himself in NHL circles.
