It was a scary scene last night when 2019 top 10 pick Vasily Podkolzin landed awkwardly after a hit and convulsed on the ice.

Scary Scene Involving Podkolzin

During an AHL game last night between the Abbotsford Canucks and the Colorado Eagles, forward Vasily Podkolzin had an awkward landing after a hit from Jacob Middleton that resulted in him convulsing on the ice and eventually being stretchered off.

VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED

Very scary situation. Middleton hit Podkolzin and he landed very awkwardly. Stretcher on the ice, it looked like Podkolzin was convulsing. Yikes

Both the Eagles and the Canucks entire rosters were on the ice to ensure that Podkolzin was alive and able to make it off the ice safely.

Reports indicate that Podkolzin was convulsing. However, not all convulsions are necessarily life-threatening but still quite scary to watch.

There was a brief close-up and it did appear like Podkolzin was convulsing as players from both teams called for medical help.

Podkolzin was reportedly conscious when being stretchered off the ice.

The Eagles and the Canucks would go on to finish the final five minutes of the game which has already been questioned by many.

We will now await an update from the Vancouver Canucks organization on Podkolzin's health. He was the 10th overall pick in the 2019 draft and is only 22 years old.

UPDATE: Podkolzin shared an update via his Instagram story stating that he is all alright!
