This gets turned up in the playoffs and players are known for battling through horrific injuries during playoff runs. Mark Stone recently talked about his experience with injuries during the 2023 playoffs.

Mark Stone Joins The Pat McAfee Show

Mark Stone joined Pat McAfee to talk about the Vegas Golden Knights playoff run and Stanley Cup Championship. During the interview they touched on injuries and Stone revealed that he broke his wrist in the first period of game 5.

Took a hard slash, was a pretty bad break.

Stone Shines Even With Broken Wrist

He would eventually come back and score a hat trick in the very same game after receiving treatment from the medical staff. Stone said he took some stuff that helped with the pain and that as soon as he lifted the cup he forgot the pain.

Stone would be the first player to score a hat trick in a Stanley Cup clinching game in over 100 years.

Stone's story like so many others adds to the lore of the toughness of hockey players and the paramount importance of a good training staff.
