According to the New York Post, a Connecticut high school hockey player died after being injured on the ice during a game.
On Thursday night in Greenwich, Brunswick School, an all-boys college prep school in Greenwich, faced up against St. Luke's School, a co-ed private school in New Canaan.
"A player from the opposite team fell to the ice" during the game, according to the Greenwich Police Department, and "another player who was close was unable to stop, and collided with the player who fell."
The teenage hockey player was transported to Greenwich Hospital and passed away.
Brunswick's Chief Thomas Philip reportedly visited with St. Luke's School's head.
"We're devastated," Philip expressed his feelings. "It's an unfathomable tragedy."
