Alex Ovechkin candidate for MAJOR academic award

Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin gave a pre-defense of his scientific dissertation in front of the Federal Scientific Center for Physical Culture and Sports under the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation earlier today, and was unanimously recommended for a public defense.
Ovechkin wrote his thesis on a comparative analysis of technical and tactical training for teams in North America and Russia.
If Ovechkin is successful in his defense, he will become a candidate for his PhD in pedagogical sciences.
