Auston Matthews' recent comments scare Maple Leafs Fans
The Toronto Maple Leafs will have the chance to sign Auston Matthews to an extension as of July 1st.
While most in the industry believe that Matthews will sign at the minimum a short-term extension in Toronto, some new comments by Matthews might imply otherwise.
In a new segment of Leaf To Leaf, the teams' fun segment where people get to know their favorite players more personally, Matthews dropped a bombshell. When asked where he likes to play the most, Matthews replied with New York, Los Angeles, and Florida.
Auston Matthews will be a UFA following next season, and he will have a lot of choice in where he ends up. If he loves these destinations so much, is a departure from Toronto coming?
