BREAKING: Capitals Star's Career In Jeopardy Following Troubling Announcement
The Capitals are in danger of losing one of their stars to retirement following terrible announcement.
Backstrom's Career In Jeopardy
The Washington Capitals and Nicolas Backstrom just announced that Backstrom will be taking a step away from hockey.
The #caps announce that Nicklas Backstrom is stepping away from the game for an unspecified period of time while dealing with the effects of last year's hip surgery.
Backstrom: "I ask for privacy at this time as I determine my next steps and viable options moving forward." Backstrom will now take a step back from hockey but will hopefully be able to return eventually.
Backstrom is one of the best players in Capitals history being Alex Ovechkin's linemate for most of his career. He will likely have his number retired by the Capitals and has a solid case for the Hockey Hall of Fame.
