The NHL has had its fair share of enforcers over the years, but over the past generation, there are certainly some that stand out above the others, and today, one has announced his retirement.
A hated tough guy
Along with the likes of Milan Lucic and Ryan Reaves, Zack Kassian was just as hated by opposing teams, and after 12 years and 661 games in the NHL, the veteran is calling it quits.
«To play in the NHL is one thing, but to make a 12-year career of it is pretty special.»
Zack Kassian has officially announced his retirement following 661 regular-season games.
Most renowned for his time in Edmonton, where his Battle of Alberta matchups were iconic (especially against Matthew Tkachuk), Kassian played a solid role wherever he went, even tallying 92 goals and 203 points during his time in the league.
That time was spent with Arizona, Vancouver and Buffalo as well as Edmonton, and while he was hated on the ice, we wish him well in retirement after a solid and very entertaining career on the ice.
