Bruins defender Brandon Carlo takes a hard hit from Islanders forward Cal Clutterbuck while chasing down a puck in his own zone. Carlo's head makes clear contact with the glass, and he falls hard. He stays down, rises to his knees, but man, oh man, does he look like he's from another planet.
Here's the whole thing:
That's a nasty thing, especially given Carlo's history of concussions.
Due to concussion and post-concussion concerns, the 24-year-old defender has missed substantial time in his young career. You never want to see a man in this circumstance, but you really don't want to see it happen to someone who has a history of head traumas. In fact, a concussion forced him to miss the entire postseason run. To say the kid has been through the wringer is an understatement. The 6 foot, 5 inch, 230 pound product of Colorado Springs, Colorado has three goals and four assists in 27 regular season games with the squad this season.
