The way veteran Calgary Flames head coach Darryl Sutter works is take it or leave it. You either like it or you don't. He either loves you or he really doesn't.
Unfortunately, in the case of Sean Monahan, Sutter really doesn't like him. In the last few games, Monahan has been playing on the back three. At $6.375 million a year on your fourth line, that's a lot of money to spend on a center.
Today, we learned that he will literally be left out.
What is going on with Monahan? He could very well be a good second center in many lineups. In 2018-2019, he had 82 points in 78 games.
At 27 years old, he has only 22 points in 62 games.
Clearly, in his case, a change of scenery this summer would be very beneficial.
