Gary Bettman and The NHL Take a Step in the Right Direction
Gary Bettman is awash in universal hatred by NHL fans for mishandling hockey in the desert and for Digital Ads this season.
Bettman's NHL finally figured out how to do one thing right this weekend and it's the bare minimum.
NHL Scheduling actually staggered games for once, in 56 games played by most of the teams this season, it is mind-blowing it took them this long.
However, this doesn't explain yesterday's folly of having 6 games played ALL at the same time. From the top down the TV deals and reckless abandon of placing advertisements on the jerseys and helmets, is a sign that Bettman prioritizes owners' pocketbooks over the health of the sport.
With the Bally Sports bankruptcy looming, the board of governors need to be creative and listen to fans to keep us engaged and watching, staggering games one-day is not enough.
