No matter where these two teams are in the standings, a Habs vs Bruins game is always great hockey. The hate these original 6 teams have for each other goes back to the battles of the 1970's.
The Canadiens are in Boston tonight after having their team's activities put on pause by the NHL. This could be a blessing because injuries and covid hit the Canadiens hard.
They are now getting some reinforcements back including Jake Allen, Joel Armia, and Ben Chiarot. Josh Anderson and Tyler Toffolin were back on the ice also but had no contact Jerseys, and Brendan Gallagher is still away with a lower body injury.
The Canadiens are 31st in the NHL with a 7-23-4 record, while the Bruins are 4th in the Atlantic division and are 19-11-2 they also have resigned Tuuka Rask for what the the Bruins are hoping is a deep run in the playoffs.
The Canadiens are all but out of the playoff picture this season so they are playing for pride, and to show Jeff Gorton so he and their next general manager can decide who's staying and who's expendable come trade deadline.
