With a lot of hype surrounding the World Juniors and Team Canada's roster, Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan is supposed to play a huge part in what is going to be an exciting tournament no doubt.
Alongside names like Gavin McKenna, Oliver Bonk, and Carter George, the Canadian side looks to avenge their quarterfinal loss last year. Cowan will be looked upon to provide a big offensive spark and some current Maple Leafs decided to give him some veteran advice ahead of the tournament.
You'd be hard pressed to find two better people to motivate you than Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner. The two Maple Leafs superstars are no stranger to representing their respective countries, and will get to do so later on this season with the 4 Nations Face-Off.
For Cowan, it must feel good knowing he has the support of the two, and the simple but important advice they've given should be instrumental in helping him and Canada.
Marner essentially passed on a good luck and go out there kid type of motivation, something the boyish winger would typically say.
Matthews on the other hand tried to impart his type of wisdom and sage advice to the young prospect:
While Maple Leafs fans may want Matthews to take his own advice at times, there's no denying that if Cowan plays the dominant game that he's akin to, there's no telling how good he can truly be.
Unofficially holding the OHL record for his 56-game point streak, and off to another blistering junior season, Cowan has a lot to prove as he continues his journey to be a Maple Leaf; possibly as soon as next season.
Cowan will be able to showcase to the Maple Leafs and their fans when he takes the ice for Canada's first game of the World Juniors against Finland. The tournament starts on Boxing Day (Dec 26th) and runs until January 5th, 2025.
