Oilers general manager Ken Holland has been working the phones trying desperately to improve his team. The Oilers had their eyes on Vancouver Canucks goaltender Jaroslav Halak, but Halak appears to have no desire to join the Oilers.
The Oilers have been falling lower and lower down the Pacific division and are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games. Hockey insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed the Oilers were interested in Halak, but that relationship appears to be one way only with Halak refusing to waive his no-trade clause for a potential deal.
Halak would of been a huge improvement over Mikko Koskinen, he who has been a solid back up everywhere he's played. Halak is 36 and has a record of 282-177-64 with a 2.59 GAA and .915 save percentage.
