New Philadelphia Flyers head coach John Tortorella spoke to the media yesterday.
Torts has many flaws, but to take a rebuilding team and bring it back to the top, the hockey world knows he can do it.
From the beginning of his press briefing, he announced his colors.
« I'm going to be tough on this team from the start," said Tortorella on Friday. It's going to be a tough camp with a high volume of skating. They'll be informed over the summer as to how we're going to approach this. »
I was listening to Tortorella speak and really, he's quite a salesman. You can see why Chuck Fletcher fell in love.
Another example:
« I want the team to play hard," he said. I think we need to show up and be tougher to play against. As soon as we get off the bus. From the moment we walk into the arena. I want the other teams to think they're going to get a lot of heat tonight. »
